Binissalem Public Library (Mallorca) welcomes “Agus & Monsters in the world”, the first ever international exhibition dedicated to the Agus & Monsters series.
The opening took place on the 23th of May with a monstrous workshop ran by the authors Jaume Copons & Liliana Fortuny. The display will remain open for visits until the end of the month. The exhibition forms part of the broader project, the Monstrous Tour, which is an initiative from Combel.
“Agus & Monsters in the world” is a must-see exhibition for all Agus fans. Why? Because this new adventure was a librarians’ initiative. The staff and library board of Binissalem Public Library, who are avid readers like me, wanted to fill their library with Agus editions from around the world.
“Agus & Monsters in the world” shows samples of the international editions and gives the chance to see the series in a new light, this time through the world of languages.
The exhibition offers the possibility of talking about the world of books and the people who, in addition to the authors, work to ensure that all monstrous stories reach their destination: the readers. Without the work of editors, translators, proofreaders, designers, rights managers, communication professionals, commercials, distributors, publishers and librarians … it is very likely that Agus & Monsters series would get nowhere.
To get the most out of this experience, the library is organising follow-up activities, where children are invited to explore the univers of Agus through workshops, interactive monstrous questionnaires and a contest.
Mallorca is the first stop on the itinerary of this exhibition and we are all looking forward to the next one.
What’s your best guess?
